Mary Devine (President and Founder)


Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice from Wilmington University.  She retired  from  New Castle County Police as a S/Sergeant. She served as a Detective in the Special Victims, Domestic Violence and Homicide units. Certified instructor for Forensic Child Interviewing through “Finding Words” She supervised the Mounted Patrol unit with New Castle County Police Department. Over ten years experience with riding and training horses and riders. Trained with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as well as Southern Police Institute as an instructor. Successfully completed the West Point Command and Leadership School. She is EAGALA certified and currently certified through the Council on Police Training (COPT) as well as CPR certification and emergency first aid.

Claudine Malone (Secretary)

ClaudineMasters Degree in Administration of Justice from Wilmington University. Ms. Malone retired from New Castle County Police Department in 2012 with 20 years of service. She is currently working on her law degree from Widener University. Ms. Malone served many years as a Detective in the Special Victims Unit and supervised the Megans Law unit before her promotion to Sergeant. She also graduated from the West Point Command and Leadership school. She has training through CPI in Non-violent Crisis Intervention. She is a certified hostage negotiator, mediator, and Critical Incident Stress management debriefing. She is COPT certified and current with CPR through State of Delaware Emergency Medical Responder certification. She is currently employed by Wilmington University as an Adjunct Instructor and Security Specialist.

Brenda Irwin

BrendaBoard member – Ms. Irwin is the Owner/Operator of “The Training Academy” martial arts centers, a business she has successfully operated since 1994. She is an active instructor for her school located in Maryland. She served as the Youth Director with Delaware City Police Department from 1998 – 2003 where one of her primary responsibilities was grant writing and fiscal responsibility.

 

 

John L. Cunningham

Cunningham_JackBoard member – Assistant Vice-President of Student Affairs – Wilmington University – Doctorate of Education degree. Dr. Cunningham retired as Chief of Police from New Castle County Police Delaware in 2003 after 29 years. Specialized education includes Senior Management Institute for Police, John F. Kennedy School of Business, Harvard University, Dignitary protection, US Secret Service, Washington DC, FBI National Academy. His accomplishments are numerous and healing with horses is fortunate to have him as a valuable consult.

 

 

Stuart Snyder

Photo of Stu SnyderBoard member – Bachelor degree in Political Science from University of Delaware – Served 34 years with New Castle County Police Department where he oversaw the fiscal unit and wrote numerous federal and state grant requests. Mr. Snyder retired from New Castle County as a Major in 2010 and served six years as the Chief Deputy with the New Castle County Sheriffs’ Office, he is now the Chief of Staff at the Insurance Commissioner’s Office.  Mr. Snyder has been a valuable team member and offers a wide variety of skills and abilities which he offeres tirelessly.
